In that sense, I don't think it was that bad of a move. I would rather have Marion than Kurt Thomas and a 28th overall draft pick. Every year when the Suns pick I always think, "Wow, that must be hard because they really don't need anybody." It's always just a backup PG or something.

Yeah, but eventually those picks will become someone. They could also draft rights to euro players that they wont have to pay now, but in a few years can bring in to play.
Insted, they hand away the picks to drop an EXPIRING CONTRACT that could have been used to trade for a solid player. Nash an marion only have so many years of high level play left, so maybe they shouldnt be giving away the future.
