All Russo needs to be a great person in the industry is a short leash. That's why he was a great writer in the additute era. Vince McMahon kept him in check. WCW, being owned by Turner (this accounts for half the nails in WCW's coffin, so I won't blame Russo for everything wrong with WCW), didn't have the owner overseeing everything.
