The Dark is Rising sequence

So the trailer for the first movie is up. Apparently, instead of calling it "The Dark is Rising," which was the name of the book, they're going with "The Seeker." Idon't care, just clarifying.

This is the second book, but the first one that was written with a series in mind. It focuses on Will Stanton, who discovers he is part of a war between the dark and the light. He's an "old one" who is set to seek out six signs to combat the dark.

The trailer can be viewed at www.seekthesigns.com though it's small. Can probably find a better source. It looks close to the book in many ways, though the part of the Rider seems to have been extended. The Rider is played by Chris Eccleston from Doctor Who (And Heroes).

I hope they don't fuck this up by making it into a "kid with an attitude" movie.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
