Golden Era Inductions

While putting together the TPWW Hall of Fame and gathering ideas from the committee members, we decided to put together a sort of Golden Era Section. This is a section that will honor those who may have been forgotten or may have never been heard of, but were important and influencial to wrestling history. Every 6 months, 2 Golden Era Inductions will be selected by the committee members. With that being said, I give you the overwelming selections for the first 2 Golden Era Hall of Famers.

Gorgeous George

The Human Orchid's legacy on professional wrestling cannot be taken lightly. George was the first guy to really bring a sense of character and theatrics to the sqaured circle. When everyone else was all about the technical aspect of wrestling, George relied on charisma, personality, expressions and mannerisms to get himself over with the crowd. And over he got. Gorgeous George became a self obsessed glamour king and made audiences everywhere despise him. George breathed new life into professional wrestling and took it places it had never been before. George's style was very instrumental in future wrestling superstars and he paved the way for the characters and gimmicks seen in professional wrestling these days. It's a pleasure to induct George as the first member of the Golden Era.

Lou Thesz

The Wrestlers wrestler. Lou Thesz is considered by many to be the greatest wrestling champion that ever existed. Lou won dozens of championships throughout his long and stellar career and was a favorite among wrestling fans. He was charming, heroic and a fighter. Lou never backed down from any fight and in an era where real wreslting shoots existed, Lou held his own. As an honerable and knowlegeable champion, Lou gained the respect of that of his peers and the wrestling community as a whole. He was holder of many titles, a teacher to many students and a true legend of the squared circle.
