Speaking of which, I've just painstakingly compiled stats about Cena's combined title reigns, and there's some interesting stuff to note:
His first title reign lasted 280 days, from April 3rd, 2005 (Won at WrestleMania 21 from J.B.L.) to January 8th, 2006 (Lost at New Years Revolution to Edge).
Between his first and second title reigns the amount of time Cena spent without the gold around his belt was 21 days (3 weeks exactly.)
His second title reign lasted just 133 days, from January 29th, 2006 (Won at Royal Rumble 2006 from Edge) to June 11th, 2006 (Lost to Rob Van Dam at ECW One Night Stand 2006).
Between his second, and currently, third title reigns, the amount of time Cena spent without the gold around his waist was 119 days (17 weeks, or 4Ύ months exactly.)
So far, in his current run with the title, John Cena has, as of today, held the WWE Championship for 344 days
If Cena survives his WWE Unforgiven match next month, and makes it the next hour and 15 minutes or so until the following day (September 17th), it will be Cena's 1 year anniversary with the WWE Championship (boo!)
As of today, John Cena has held the WWE Championship for the past
757 out of
861 days, or roughly
88% of the last 2 years, 4 months, 1 week and 4 days. Edge held it for
97 of those
861 days, or roughly
9-11% of that time period, and Rob Van Dam held it for an all-too-brief
22 of the past
861 days, or roughly
2-4% of that time period.
Hope you found that insightful.
