Our season starts this week, but I had glandular fever when I cam back from my holiday to South Africa so I couldn't play contact sports for 8 weeks (doctor said I could rupture my splein, pfft), and I still have 3 of those weeks to go yet. I'm so unfit now it's not even funny, apart from playing American football, I've done nothing exercise wise all Summer, just been drinking and having the odd smoke. I've lost my fitness for football too now, although even if I hadn't, fitness for rugby is a different type of fitness required for football.
Also, up until this year I've played in age groups which consist of people the same age as me, example: under 14's, then under, 15's, then under 16's. But after under 16's you go up to youth where you're playing people that range from 16-19, so if I don't get my act together soon I'm gonna be fucked!!
