What makes MMA fighters so much better than boxers or pro wrestlers in their fighting ability?

I know they have training in various martial arts and wrestling, but I would imagine that practically every wrestler in the WWE has the size and ability to train to become an MMA star. I'm just trying to understand why MMA fighters are being put on such a higher platform than these other guys.
