Yeah he was injured and Bischoff was pissed at Hall and Nash for some reason and since he couldn't punish them, he fired their pal. And he was within his rights to do so anyway because their contracts said if they were unable to wrestle for a specific amount of time, they could be cut.

Bret Hart was cut under the same clause after his 8 concussions in 3 weeks.
