Maybe it is, I'm just fed up with people liking music based on whats "cool" to like and dislike, rather than what they actually enjoy. I'll bet half the people who make fun of fallout boy secretly like them. Not saying they're the next icon, but just an example of my meaning.

And while I agree that the industry is corporate driven, I don't think it's quite as bad as the late90's/early00's. Back then everything seemed to be sound alike female pop stars and boy bands. I remember truthfully thinking that rock could die back then.
