The point of rating the artists is so we can know how good they are before any listening is to be done with them. Obviously we are going to think more highly of an artist rated 82 over an artist that is a 69, and therefore automatically enjoy the 82's music much more than the inferior 69. It puts necessary structure on knowing what is good and what is bad.
