DX reformed on Raw, with Xpac who at the time was in a tag team with Kane.
On Smackdown, Kane knew nothing of it. Xpac, who was a face was now in a heel stable. So he was like "I know I know, I'll take care of it and see if I can get you in"
Then, I believe, Kane and Xpac had a tag match against HHH and Road Dogg to determine whether or not he got in. Or something to that effect. The second Xpac got the tag they all jumped Kane and beat him down.
He was never in nor was it ever a plan. He never stood with them, entered with them or was considered a member of DX by fans, himself or DX.
