Yeah I know it is risky...but I dunno, I think Peterson may have got him on the right track. He's got awesome stuff, just a matter of harnessing it.
Kinda a hard situation to predict...if they manage to lock him up to a reasonable deal now, they'll still have him for future years whether he pitches well or sucks. But if he pitches great and doesn't get an extension before the year, Boras'll direct him to the FA pool and from there it'll depend on what Perez cares more about: money or the team.
