Honestly, I was pretty disappointed. DDL was fantastic, and Paul Dano gave a really good performance, too, but... nothing really happened. It's sort of the same problem I have with Citizen Kane. The performances are great, it's shot incredibly well, but... what was the plot? Sociopath gets rich, soul decays, fights a priest, bad things happen...

That said, the performances WERE great, and it WAS shot very well. I was just expecting more from the story, I guess. Of the three Best Picture noms I've seen (along with No Country and Juno), it ranks third for me at this point.
