The thing about masks is that they build mystique and give a character a certain aura. But it could be said that for Kane that's already been ruined by years without it, and that there is "no chance" that Kane's going to get revitalized by putting it back on him.

On the other hand, look at Rey Mysterio. WCW took his mask off for about three years and he floundered around and did next to nothing. WWE signed him, put the mask back on him and he became a freakin' superstar.

Maybe comparing Kane and Mysterio is like comparing apples and oranges and maybe it's really a bad comparison, but something else I'd like to say is that I don't think it's the lack of mask that has made Kane what he is now. If WWE wants Kane to be a dominant monster, they don't need to put a mask on him--they just have to do more stuff like him attacking people with that hook-and-chain from See No Evil, or setting fire to people, and dominating people in matches. That's it. It isn't that hard. Not that exact same stuff, because those things were done, but you know what I mean?

The point is if WWE doesn't want to make Kane look like a true main-event level talent, then he won't. I don't think the mask is the problem.
