You may have heard of Spore. The PC version is a hotly anticipated evolution sim from Will Wright, the brain behind The Sims. Like The Sims, it's one of those huge open-ended games that you could lose your life to.

On DS it plays more like an adventure as you play as one creature who is charged with saving the planet. Not much is known about why your planet is in trouble but the way your character evolves makes Spore a unique adventure taht's worth keeping an eye on.

You start as a little slug-type creature who you can move around with the stylus. As you explore the universe you'll collect all sorts of different body parts which you can use to evolve your creature. You can also mess around with your character's colour in the Creature Editor so it really will be your own personal creation.

In addition to Body Parts, you'll also collect Bio-Powers that will help you advance through the 15 levels. Excitingly you'll be able to share your creature with friends via Wi-Fi Connection.

There is also word of a possible Wii version of Spore. We asked Jason Haber, the producer of Spore, about the possibility of a Wii version and he replied: "We haven't officially announced that Spore will be appearing on Wii but I can say in secret that it's okay to get excited and you should!"

The full interview features in Issue 27 of Official Nintendo Magazine which is out on Friday.

I think it looks interesting but I can't say one way or the othet until I know a bit more. I thought they said the DS version would be a card game, or is that just the mobile phone version that's a card game?
