ROFL. Comparing FFVII with Casablanca. And you think the fanboys are idiots? Come on dude, using completely unrelated things to try and further your point? I get it, you don't like FFVII. Deal with it dude. Just because you went to school with a few idiots who drool over the game doesn't mean everyone is like that. You are stereotyping everyone in the world who likes the game based on a few people you know; and while your tastes may differ, you come off as just as much of a whiny emo 'fankid'. Come on, you think SaGa Frontier is the tits, nothing else even needs to be said at that point. Oh except that you think PE is a console and a half advanced over FF7; a console and a half? What kind of retard are you? PE was a good game, had a good setting, but advanced? Have you ever considered that if it was so great it would have been the blockbuster title and FF7 would have been competing with it? No, no, that seems like to deep a principle for you.
You sit here bitching about how fanboys love FF7 when you make an even bigger deal about how you hate it? It's just a fucking game either way it goes, and now instead of playing it, I'm stuck building a bridge to cross this huge ass river you are crying me.
Furthermore, the whole remake principle doesn't apply to everything. A remake of Casablanca would phail miserably even if it was the greatest film ever made because it is not of the style poeple would really care about nowadays in the first place. People WANT a ff7 remake; don't think I've ever heard anyone beg for a new Casablanca. So yeah, lets remake the things people don't want and ignore what they do, that makes sense. Lets not remake the game that would make them more money than any other title they ever produced, that makes sense too. About as much sense as 99% of your comparisons do.
