Let's not forget an important element.

Kurt Angle entertained the fans. Even Benoit did. Is there room in WWE? Yeah. It's been done, and probably not for the last time. Will it happen frequently? No. Why? Because most submission wrestlers are "boring" by the standards of the WWE's fans. And wrestling fans in general.

Submission wrestlers main event when they're "worth it." Now, WWE (and wrestling in general) doesn't always measure "worth" in the same way the fans do, let alone specific groups, but honestly, it's not like sumbission artists never make it to the top (Let alone find room).
