Actually, that may be Vince's doing. I think I read somewhere recently that Vince wants the commentators to do less talking and more of letting the sights and sounds of what is going on in the ring tell the stories. I've noticed that at that point, JR and King didn't talk as much, either (but the silence wasn't as long). Cole was doing that when he was with Tazz for the longest time before Tazz went to ECW, and actually bragged about it in the SD 5th anniversary mag (which I should still have lying around somewhere in my house, it's a good mag). That's nothing new, it's just something Vince wants right now.
