To be fair to Batista, he actually earns most of his title shots. There's a kayfabe reason he keeps coming back for them. It's just crappy from an in-ring perspective, because Batista facing the same guy over and over again is not good unless it is Finlay, MVP or Mr. Kennedy.

Kane really could have used the heel turn during the match, and emerged as an initial challenger for Punk's World Heavyweight Championship, especially considering their history in the ECW brand together. There is time to build to Batista challenging for the WHT.
