The business is a lot different today. MSG had to be WWE's cashcow back then because it was the epicenter of their territory. Now, WWE has to try and reach a global audience that is continually getting "smarter" and like KoOS said trying to get over. MSG is a historically important place, but now it is just another arena that has built-in hype to it.
