They are a heel tag team... that's what they do. They get an unfair advantage and they go for it. Then they just controlled the match for a good 5 or 6 minutes (pretty much half the match) while Cole hyped their teamwork.

Adding on top of that, the fact that they were facing JOHN CENA AND BATISTA, I really don't see how this match made them look week. Jesus people, I missed the angle where Triple H cloned himself and called the clones Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase Jr. They couldn't have made them look much better without it being terribly unrealistic.
There's a difference between "playing the heel" and "being made to look worthless". That match basically made R and D look like two guys who didn't know what they were doing.
