Have you heard the Avenged self titled? I have no idea how *new* it is, but I've gotten into it recently and I like it.
I heard the one new song by Trivium and it sounds pretty decent.
The ones you said I'm definitely checking out, plus I want to hear:
New:
Unearth
Metallica (I guess, I'm not a huge Metallica fan, but I did like the first three songs of the album)
Slipknot
When I get home I'll search by 2008 or something.
