As comps and systems get more power, then yeah, you're going to have some issues with overheating that you will have to address when the issue comes up. I'm sure the Wii can overheat if you leave it on for days and weeks and months at a time. Why do you think you have fans in your computer and have watercooling products avaliable? That processor, for example, will catch on fire within 2 seconds of you powering your comp on if you don't have a heat sink installed (no joke. Those things get EXTREMELY hot in an EXTREMELY short time frame, obviously).
The thing is that if you run your system 24/7 without it getting a break or at least some adequate ventilation, then common sense (something I doubt some people have, actually) should tell you that something bad will eventually happen. Not blocking the fans is a key thing that gets overlooked, sadly.
The issue about the 360's overheating issue is that it's more widespread than it should be, and they may have not structured the system to handle the type of heat that it's generating within the system, or something in the system is not doing what it's supposed to do. Whatever it is, it's causing more problems than it should be.
