I got to play for about 3 hours today, and just tooling around I have to say I like what I see.

The combat is the best of the series. I think the dodge/counter makes it all flow very nicely, considering most enemies will own you if you try to go at them with no strategy. Graphically, it's very impressive - I've already hada few "OH shit" moments from my own SHADOW ON THE WALL.

My only gripe? I've been playing for about 3 hours and I'm yet to really learn anything about what's going on. Like...I don't know why someone is missing or what silent hill has to do with sheperds glen.

Oh, and we get it. The main character doesn't like water. He almost drowned when he was kid, and he probably drowned some other people, and the game beats that to death in the first hour. Thanks. Wouldn't have otherwise figured that out in the end.
