Jigsaw said that if he was to be killed by Hoffman (after he abducted him) then Hoffman's murder would be revealed because the evidence was in a "safe place." This was a bit of insurance for Jigsaw just in case Hoffman didn't decide to join up with him. I believe that whatever is in the box is some kind of insurance to incriminate someone else in case Jigsaw died.
That was at least a year before the events of SAW V though, so its reasonable to think that the contents of the box were changed. I think that there's a third killer who will be revealed in SAW VI, probably the wife of Jigsaw.
Either way, SAW V was a waste of my time. I didn't give two shits about any of the characters save Jigsaw, and he's fuckin' dead already. The "traps" were totally predictable, there was no twist at the end, I didn't give a fuck about the guy and girl who had to give blood at the end, and the only kind of cool moment was Hoffman in the glass box while Strahm is crushed to death.
Pretty obvious to tell that this was an amateur director at work. The actors gave nothing to the film, and there weren't any shots or production work that was in any way outstanding or memorable.
SAW V: 3/10
