Bagwell's a sad case really. If WCW had capitalised on the sympathy vote when he returned from his broken neck in 1998 and feuded him with Steiner, he could have been wildly popular as a babyface. They were teasing it, and he was getting over huge. Then he just turned on Rick Steiner and the status quo was returned to normal.
His attitude, and the fact he was never quite the same wrestler after the broken neck, were obviously factors too, but that has never stopped a top guy from finding work before. Bagwell could have been up there as one of WCW's top soldiers in the battle against the nWo and the office blew it.
