TNA isn't very good at handling situations. When the industry hands them lemons, they freeze up and talk to the fans straight. They don't do anything creative. They don't work within kayfabe. They just assume everyone who watches their show is a smart or doesn't know any better, so they come out and adress the situation rather than book around it.
The only times I've ever seen WWE backed into a corner like that is the Bret screwjob, or when active wrestlers died unexpectedly. Even in those situations, they handled it pretty simply and in most cases even ran with it in kayfabe.
TNA seems to resort to straight shooting every couple weeks, for minor mishaps. Similar to WCW in 2000.
