DP is a cool kid, but I think he doesn't see how... high on Sony he is. He may post something that speaks of Sony's advancement and post something else that passive aggressively bashes M$ whether he knows it or not. It usually comes down to perspective, but why want one console to do well?

And though DP didn't involve himself in this; whoever got angry/pissy about Sony losing any of it's many former exclusives over the past year to the 360 is a bitch. A petty bitch. Anyway...

Yeah, I don't care who's selling the most because I don't have stock in neither brand. The best case scenario is to own all consoles but if you can't, don't bash another console because you can't afford it (my opinion on the source of the earliest and most fanboyism). Its so stupid to me. I remember being called a M$ fanboy and I'm thinking, "I really don't give a shit about 360, games I wanna play just happen to be/run better on it."
Part of me wants to see Sony taken down a peg, after the shit they pulled on THREE home consoles.

But then, that leaves Microsoft as the mainstream brand, and That's probably bad for gaming, too.

On the other hand, if Sony gets their asses kicked for one generation, maybe they'll knock off the "people will like what we tell them to like" bullshit. One of my biggest complaints about Sony is the attitude that lead them to create a entertainment system with overcomplicated archetecture and a drive that would quickly become dated, charge like 800 bucks for it, and wonder why everyone jumped ship.

On the other hand, if the recent bailout, WWE, and life in general has taught me anything, it's that corporations don't learn.

On the other hand...Oh, you get the point.

I can't see cheering either on, really. Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony are all out to screw us. Of the three, Nintendo's probably the firnedliest set of bastards, but they're still bastards. There's not a case of a good company and a bad company, just a bad company and a worse one. Far as I'm concerned, the only real pros and cons are what the company can do for me. Last gen, I went with Sony because Sony offered me kickass games through their massive third party support. And because all my friends had one.

This gen, I'm going with Microsoft because of their kickass games through their massive third party support. And because all my friends have one, and most of the people I know online do.

Next gen, I back whichever horse looks to offer me the most. I'll probably get two consoles, but after this gen, I doubt I'm buying another Nintendo system. Still, if Sony has the biggest library, I'll go back to them in a heartbeat. Fuck loyalty, Sony wanted to brick computers of suspected pirates and Microsoft wants a proprietary computer platform they control. I don't like either company.

So this whole console war thing is a bit odd to me, outside the notion that maybe if Sony loses a few teeth in this round, they'll come back swinging next time.

Consoles are expensive, though, and so even if you get more than one, I can sort of see you wanting your investment to not have been a waste. Sony's got such a mediocre library, if it didn't have BD functionality, I'd be heading to the Sony America corporate office with a pitchfork. I think I paid 600 bucks for mine, and for that, I could have gotten an okay computer and more gaming out of it. I know some people love theirs to pieces, and that's fine.

But then we get into the whole thing where you have to be a fanboy to think a patent issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office might hold water, or that Sony isn't going to make a collossal comeback...

...And that shit's so stupid, I can't help but rub someone's nose in it...Even though it probably just serves to fuel his paranoia.
