There are DVD players, known as "Region-Free" or "Progressive Scan" players that will play discs from any region. I have one at my comic book store in order to play some DVDs that I got imported from Japan and the UK that aren't available in the US. I bought it at a Best Buy - a Pioneer model DV-400V. It also plays WMVs, MP3s, is RW compatible, has a USB port, and also touts "Photoviewer"
Thanks for the heads up. Just quickly though, I'm from Australia, not America. I also happen to manage an electrical store owned by Australias biggest retailer.

So yeah, I don't really want to buy a region free dvd player, but IF I did, the pioneer would be the go

And also, Region Free and Progressive scan are 2 COMPLETELY different things.
