The minimum requirements are as follows:

Memory: 512 MB RAM or higher
Video System: 1024x768 display capable of running 32-bit color mode
Please note that in order to play with every game area activated, you must meet the optimal system requirements. If you are only meeting the minimal requirements, you may find that you need to deactivate two or more areas in order to cut down the loading times."
So it'll run on most machines, but quite slowly. It'll load faster if you turn off some parts of the game, such as Japan, which is a large section of the game world.
