The Batmobile is based at least partly on the designs from Dark Knight Returns.
It's basically an all terrain vehicle that Wayne Enterprises developed for the military that never got commissioned. Bruce finds it and tinkers with it to create what is in essence the Batmobile.
Remember though this is an origins story, what you see above might just be a precursor to what eventually becomes the 'true' Batmobile.
