Well, I came up with the idea for the match when I was trying to think of a main event that was truly and honestly "special enough" for WrestleMania. The most obvious way to do that is to get the top face to battle the top heel, in a feud that would hopefully have a great story to it.

Chris Jericho is probably the best heel the WWE has right now. Edge is also awesome, but I just don't think he has the lightning in the bottle that he had earlier this year. Jericho is just a far fresher character being portrayed by a guy who I just think is generally better. The Undertaker, while I may not like him much, is probably the most over guy in the company. This would be especially true at a WrestleMania event in Houston.
