One thing that i dont understand. Now i dont know if the writers messed up or if i missed something, but the scene where Farraday talks to Desmond in the past. Well if i remember correctly. The guy that Desmond shared the bunker with, was making him believe that you couldnt go outside and breath the air. Then Desmond followed him one day and realized it was a lie and the guy was just trying to fix his boat so he could sail off the island. And Desmond ended up killing him.

Ok so, why would Desmond answer Farraday in the yellow suit and oxygen mask thing? He was presumably alone because he asked if Farraday was his replacement. So it would have been after he killed his partner. Which means he would have known the air was fine?

Did i miss something here?
