Word has it the Mets want to get a deal done with Oliver Perez by the end of the weekend. Their original offer was 3 years, $30 million but Omar said he's willing to bump it to 4 years at no more than $10 million per year. Unfortunately, I fully expect Boras to pop in with a mystery team at the last second
Really torn on the Mets' offense. They scored the second most runs in the league last year but two years in a row the entire offense folded in September. I'd rather sign Perez and Sheets...and then if need be, make a trade later on. It's much easier it is to trade for a bat then it is to trade for a pitcher during the year.
