In an ideal world, this would be the case. You imagine Bale pulling that shit on a Scorsese, a James Cameron, a Clint Eastwood? Never gonna happen. McG however knows that the studio is gonna boot him before it boots the lead in the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time.

How do you know he hasn't already been? He seems to be a perfectionist when preparing for his roles, so this honestly doesn't surprise me. And I doubt Bale would need to do this sort of thing with those other directors because there is likely a much tighter knit degree of professionalism when working with those directors.
