COMMERCIALS BE GONE!!! Shelton "Nelly" Benjamin vs. Triple H: Ric Flair is the guest announcer. Yeah, this is basically Over the Edge 1998 as some people here predicted. It might not have the same ending though. Batista is the guest timekeeper. Have I mentioned how sexy Batista is? Sexy Beast could easily be tweaked to market him. An official trainer has been added to this mix and it's Randy Orton. The trainer's the guy that tore his shoulder and messed up his leg in the span of 6 months? Might as well just have Barney Fife provide you cover in a shoot-out. Flair doesn't do the whole "I will not introduce a bum" schtick for Benjamin. King has a nice suggestion; let Flair do all the announcing. Not like he gets to talk in Evolution much anyway. HHH starts with a boot to the gut and goes with the STRIKING GAME in the corner. Shelton escapes a suplex and gets a roll-up for a near fall. Crossbody from Shelton for a near fall, crucifix for another near fall. HHH slows down the pace with a spinebuster catching Shelton off the ropes. The timekeeper gets over-excited and drops Shelton on the railing after being tossed by HHH. Back in, HHH stomps and chokes away. Shelton counters a back body drop with a kick and fights back. HHH answers with a face plant. Now the trainer gets over-excited and sends Shelton into the barricade nearly killing him cause he lands on his head. Shelton beats the 10 count and gets slapped around. Shelton comes back with the Dragon Whip out of the corner. Stinger Splash on the Game and he takes a breather. Shelton follows. Shelton counters a Pedigree attempt with a slingshot into the post. Shelton rushes back in to beat the count and the Game gets counted out to give Carl the win. Heel beatdown commences in case HHH's heat might disappear. The calvary arrives like 5 minutes too late consisting of Shawn Michaels, Chris Benoit, and Mick Foley and the heels retreat. A neat set-up for the match and the finish was the way to go to make Shelton look like a threat but keep HHH legit as a challenger for the championship. Didn't top last week's match though due to the silliness of the Evolution memebers. **
