It depends on how it's executed. Punching, or I guess "brawling" for instance. One of the things that I can't stand in wrestling is how fake the punches look. It really bothers me when in a match, they "work on the leg" or something by doing these half-assed looking kicks to it, as if that ever even has much consequence in a wrestling match anyway. Someone like Austin or The Rock, though, made their punches have style and legitimacy to them. That being said, most wrestlers can't pull that off too well.
How I feel about it is, the audience knows it's fake, so either make it so over the top that you have to like it, or make it look so realistic that the audience doesn't even know what's real anymore. None of that "working on the leg" bullshit unless you are actually seeing someone getting their leg broken.
