Dave Lombardo is good for what he does - keeping time for a speed/thrash metal band. I have heard every Slayer song ever released and I haven't heard any drumming that impresses me outside the barriers of thrash. Otherwise, I wouldn't rate him as one of the greatest metal drummers. Gene Hoglan is my all time favorite.
