Although Sony apparently has no hand in making this movie, you gotta believe that they could make a profit out of this. If they aren't helping with the movie, then there is no loss for them.

If the movie does well, they would sell heaps of copies of FFVII, and maybe remake it on PS2, as well as maybe an Advent Children game.
