Besides that, Crosby is about 20 years old. Hasn't even reached his peak yet.
He's just gotten over being a teen. What he's done thus far..incredible.
However, how are we judging the better athlete? Because the sports are completely different.

I agree totally, and wasn't trying to detract from anything Crosby has done. I think he's an amazing athlete, especially when, like you said, you consider how young he is.
I think RIGHT NOW though, Kobe is at the peak of his career, and he's arguably been one of the best players in his sport over the past decade. Besides Lebron, is there anybody else you'd rather have on your team right now?
Since they are from different sports, I'm trying to take into consideration how high they rank in their individual sport as the barometer for who's "better".
ie, NBA, Lebron is #1, Kobe is #2. It's pretty clear cut. In the NHL, Crosby is obvious top 5, but I don't know if I'd pencil him in as #1 or #2 without a second thought.
I could be going about the whole process wrong though. I don't know if there's a way to objectively say one's a better athlete than the other. It makes for fun debate, regardless.
