The outcome may be similar in a best of 5, but that's not because the AL is better -- it's because a best of 5 series is a really way of seeing who's a better team. The first round of the playoffs prove that almost every year.

In terms of last night's game, I would've preferred to see the Howard and Fielder pinch hit ABs swapped -- have Howard hit in that early spot that Fielder did, and have Prince come up with the tying run on third. Fielder's been much better this year at bringing in runs in those situations this year and uses more of the field as a hitter than Howard does. Not like it really matters, though...even though the AL's always won the game ever since they started the HFA rule, both leagues have won 3 World Series in that time span. HFA hasn't been important since that Diamondbacks/Yankees series in 2001.

Edit: Forgot that the 2002 Giants/Angels series also went 7, but the point remains. It's been awhile since HFA meant anything.
