Ryder is another guy that I think has had control over his character. He's always been trying to do stuff outside of what the WWE have given him to appeal to people a little bit more. The WWE apparently encourages guys to come up with stuff for their character (even though ultimately they do shit with it), but this seems like it could be a Ryder creation, which is why it is working so well, and has seemingly earned him so much favour over Curt Hawkins.
