Pretty sure I've never destroyed a controller. If I ever threw one it was into a pillow or something.

But yeah I agree with mostly what's been said already. GTA races were brutal, sports games where the AI decides "there is no fucking way you are winning", COD online when I have one pretty good game to start and then absolutely blow the rest of the way.

When I was really little one of the first games I got frustrated with (and coincidentally one of the first I'd played) was Aladdin on the NES. Mind you, I was so young that the concept of strategy really hadn't entered my mind yet. So I was stuck on the boss on only like the 2nd level, a sheik or something.

So I kept yelling "THAT SHIT GUY BEAT ME AGAIN! THAT SHIT GUY!" cause I thought my mom said he was a shit guy, not a sheik. Anyway I got frustrated with it for days but finally figured out how to get past him and it felt like the biggest accomplishment of all time. Makes me laugh in retrospect.
