Anyone who knocks on McDaniels' drafting hasn't looked at exactly who/what we got.

Smith is by all means first round talent. Problem is he's about 5'9", and you know the NFL and it's height bias. I've read things that say he should've been a top 15 pick and is probably the best cover corner in the draft. Now he just needs to prove being worth it. Having a good offseason so far.

Ayers is ridiculous. Just do yourself a favor and look up anything on this guy. Classy and talented. Choosing to wear 56 to honor Al Wilson isn't too bad either. He missed about the first week of camp holding out, and on his first day in played so well he was bumped from 2nd team to first.

Quinn is one I can't defend too well. Will be a good eventual replacement for Graham, but def would've been there with our next 3rd. No sense trading up.

McBath and Bruton, as with most of the rest of our rookies, serve one big purpose. They'll be fixing the one consistently broken thing with the Broncos forever, special teams. Several of our rookies were special teams aces, but McBath and Bruton also have the ability to push to start at S in the next couple years.

Kenny McKinnley has been awesome in practice and is being regarded as the next Royal. Just training camp, but nonetheless nice to hear about a 5th rounder.

I'd also suggest looking at our undrafted class, just as good as our drafteds. Check out DL Rulon Davis (ex-marine) who has won every after practice team sprint since being signed. DL Everette Pedescleaux and DL Chris Baker (who's now pushing to be starting NT) among others.

Too many people shitting on this team for not looking good on paper, and I was one. But just studying up on what McDaniels has done so far shows he may just know exactly what he's doing. He may need to learn draft pick value, but he'll get there.
