Looking forward towards the offseason. Looks pretty bleak for the Mets tbh. Despite having a shitload coming off the payroll even when you account for the raises that guys like Santana and Wright are getting in their contracts, its being said there might only be around $20 million to spend and that they will need to have a smaller payroll than this year. Madoff is forcing the Wilpons to stay on a budget.

They are going to need a big bat. I was always against getting Holliday because his numbers would go way down outside of Coors, but he's been insane ever since he came back to the NL. Cards are hoping to re-sign him though. And with Damon/Matsui coming off the books, you can bet the Yankees will be a big player to sign him...especially if their offense falls short in the playoffs or something. Plus getting Holliday will cost the Mets a first rounder and I think they need all the draft picks they can get at this point.

Gonna need a starting pitcher too, but most of the really good potential FA starters have options that will certainly be exercised (Beckett, Lee, etc.) Probably gonna come by the way of a trade if they can get anything. Not that they have much to trade.

FIRE OMAR!
