35 Questions, 35 Voters
1:
Billy Gunn or the Road Dogg?
BILLY GUNN: 18
ROAD DOGG: 16
One hell of a close match-up between The New Age Outlaws. Billy Gunn proves to be slightly more popular.
2:
Better Royal Rumble (Match) - 1991 or 2000?
1991: 8
2000: 27
The 2000 Rumble, a favourite amongst wrestling fans, proves too strong for another classic Rumble in 1991, won by Hulk Hogan.
2000 Rumble had Rikishi and Too Cool dance in the ring, only for Scotty and Grandmaster to then be eliminated by their samoan leader. Road Dogg hid in the corner. Kaientai and The Mean Street Posse kept interfering, Taka was famously thrown over the ropes and landed flat on his face. Bossman and Test had great runs. X-Pac was eliminated twice. And then eventually The Rock went on to win, eliminating his arch-rival, The Big Show.
3:
Did you like La Resistance?
YES: 15
NO: 16
MAYBE: 5
Mixed results for La Resistance. 5 Maybe's. Why I wrote maybe and not 'Mixed' I'm not that sure. Overall though, La Resistance are slightly more disliked than liked on TPWW.
4:
John Morrison... or CM Punk?
MORRISON: 11
CM PUNK: 23
Well Morrison loses with dignity to CM Punk here. Both wrestlers are extremely popular on TPWW, but overall most voters (myself included) give the (straight) edge to CM Punk. He's reaching his prime now and has got people excited. CM Punk is slightly further up the ladder than Morrison, but he'll no doubt be where Punk is soon, and when that happens, this contest would be a hell of a lot closer.
5:
Better Finisher - Pedigree or Tombstone Piledriver?
PEDIGREE: 9
TOMBSTONE: 26
Well, the Tombstone Piledriver proved too strong for the Pedigree here. This match-up would possibly be closer if the Pedigree was still perfomed by H as it was in 98/99/00. But still, the brutal Tombstone picks up a convincing 26-9 victory over the also popular Pedigree,
6:
If you were Vince McMahon (not literally, KYR ) would you...
a)
Turn John Cena heel within the next 6 months?
YES: 16
NO: 15
FIRED: 4
Well, another really close one here. Most 'No' voters claimed that he makes too much money in merchandise, some 'Yes' voters said he still would even as a heel. Overall, but only just, we'd like to see a Cena heel turn.
b)
Create an angle where Kane would return to wearing a mask?
YES: 18
NO: 14
FIRED: 2
Another real close one, with mixed feelings across the board. Most of us would like to see Kane return to his mask-wearing ways. Even more of us said that we'd like to see him back to being an unstoppable monster, mask or no mask. A few feel there's no use as Kane's buried, others feel that no matter what Kane will always be a legit threat. 2 feel he's ready to be sent on his way.
c)
Hire an ex-WWE employee? Presuming yes, and if you could only re-hire ONE, who would it be?
Like in the other thread, all those with more than 1 vote will get mentioned:
1: Kurt Angle - 9
2: The Rock - 4
3: RVD - 3
4: Brock Lesnar - 2
=4: Elijah Burke - 2
=4: Eric Bischoff - 2
So, 9 of us would re-hire Kurt Angle if only allowed to hire 1 ex WWE-employee. The Rock came in second with RVD in third, but no-one really challenged Kurt Angle.
d)
Replace John Cena as the face of the company? If yes, which one wrestler would you push to superstardom (they don't have to be on the current WWE roster).
YES: 19
NO: 13
Most of us would replace Cena as the face of the WWE. Although a considerable amount wouldn't, a lot stated that there's not a lot better and that he's good for $$ and media.
Those of us who said we would replace him, here's who the most popular choices would be to replace him with:
1: CM Punk - 8
2: Morrison - 3
3: Edge - 2
CM Punk again proves his TPDUB support here. He's gone over Raven and Morrison in TPWW popularity contests, and no shows that he clearly would be the fancied man to take over from John Cena at the top. Lets hope it happens.
7:
Better Pay Per View - Summerslam 1992 or Royal Rumble 1998?
SUMMERSLAM 1992: 15
ROYAL RUMBLE 1998: 20
A close match-up which eventually went the way of Royal Rumble 1998. Debateably, Summerslam is the more respected Pay-Per-View, but that Rumble took place at the start of the Attitude era. Austin was reaching his prime, DX was going strong, Taker was challenging for the title and Tyson had just been brought in. A lot of voters, again myself included, may be too young to really appreciate SummerSlam 1992. Whilst we can watch it and think it's awesome, the mark/nostalgic feeling isn't quite there. So, Royal Rumble 1998 wins, but SummerSlam 1992 shows it's popularity and that it has a place in history.
8:
Better Finisher - THE GORE or THE POUNCE?
GORE: 28
POUNCE: 7
GORE! GORE! GORE! AHMAHGADD
9:
Kurt Angle or Rob Van Dam?
ANGLE: 21
RVD: 14
Two massively popular wrestlers. I asked you to choose. Angle is more decorated, and has spent longer at the top of the biggest federation, so he'd definitely have gone in at favourite. The popularity of RVD was clear, and many Angle voters stated that RVD is also a favourite of theirs, but Angle proves too strong.
10:
Tazz or Kevin Nash?
TAZ: 20
NASH: 15
Another tough match-up. An ECW legend and a WCW/WWF legend, both very over on TPWW. Couldn't have told you which way this would have gone beforehand, but now we know. Taz wins. FTW.
11:
Steve Austin or Chris Jericho?
AUSTIN: 14
JERICHO: 20
Again, two of the most popular wrestlers on TPWW, against each other. One one hand you had Austin, the most popular face in history of WWE. A guy who practically all of us were marks for, a guy who the crowd popped for like no other. Then, on the other hand you had Chris Jericho, a guy who's still wrestling today and at the top of his game. One of the best mic-workers, the best ring-workers - best all-rounders in history. Jericho proved to be more popular here, but take nothing away from Austin. In an overall TPWW popularity contest these two would no doubt both be in the Top 5.
12:
(Once more...) Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels?
BRET: 11
HBK: 24
The constant debate, HBK v Bret, seems to get more and more one-sided every time it's brought up. HBK won here without too many problems, Bret still showed he has support but there was times on TPWW where this'd be neck and neck. HBK wins.
13:
Grandmaster Sexay or Flash Funk?
SEXAY: 11
FLASH: 23
Flash Funk wins this lower-midcard battle without a problem.
14:
JR or Jerry Lawler?
JR: 25
KING: 10
The classic announce team who were the lead commentators in the biggest boom in wrestling history. Undoubtedly the most famous of the WWE commentary team. Good Ol' JR picks up a comfortable victory over King here though. Behind the BBQ sauce, 'STONE COLD' and botch jokes of TPWW, we still like JR really

.
15: Michael Cole or Todd Grisham?
COLE: 15
GRISHAM: 18
The 'rookie' Todd Grisham picks up a narrow victory over veteran commentator Michael Cole. Michael Cole seems quite hit and miss with TPWW, some of us hate him, some of us really like him. Me? I'm in between.
16:
Better Match - HBK/Taker WMXXV or Angle/Lesnar WMXIX?
HBK/TAKER: 29
ANGLE/LESNAR: 6
Undoubtedly 2009's WWE match of the year wins quite comfortably against a classic match from WMXIX. Perhaps if Brock didn't botch the SSP the result would have been different? Doubt it though, the veteran battle from WMXXV has been praised consistently since it took place.
17: Will Shelton Benjamin EVER be world champion (in WWE or TNA)?
YES: 6
NO: 21
MAYBE: 8
The TPWW-popular Shelton Benjamin, I asked you to tell me whether you think he'll ever be world champion. Most said no, saying that he has no charisma/mic skills and can't get over. Some optimistic voters said yes, others are still unsure, myself included. There's no doubt Shelton has the wrestling-ability to be world champion, he has the look too, however, without mic-skills and crowd-support you will only go so far. There's still time...
18: Better Feud - DX/Nation or DX/McMahons?
DX/NATION: 30
DX/MCMAHONS: 5
The DX/Nation feud wins comfortably, as expected. It was a ground-breaking feud that established two of the biggest stars in history, it provided classic matches, classic moments and showed that there was more than just Austin and the WWE title picture to 'mark-out' about.
19:
Better Stable - Evolution or Legacy?
EVOLUTION: 31
LEGACY: 4
Well I agree completely with the outcome of this poll. Legacy shows that it's got nothing on Evolution. They're still going though, who knows what will happen.
20:
Favourite Main Event Mafia member?
ANGLE: 16
BOOKER: 7
NASH: 5
JOE: 2
STEINER: 1
Angle shows his supremacy again. It should, however, be noted that many voters would have voted Sting if not for his recent MEM departure.
21:
Favourite SummerSlam of all time?
1: 2002 - 8
2: 2000 - 6
=2: 1998 - 6
4: 1992 - 4
5: 1999 - 3
SummerSlam 2002, Rock v Brock, HBK/HHH and so on showed that it's TPWW's favourite SummerSlam so far. Close behind were 2000 and 1998. 1992 again showed it's popularity in 4th and 1999 came in at 5th.
22:
Better WWE year - 1996 or 2001?
1996: 5
2001: 30
2001 - The last year of the attitude era, the invasion year, the year of the Power Trip and the year of the most popular WrestleMania ever - defeats the 1996 year which saw HBK, Bret Hart, Undertaker, Mankind, Vader and Diesel at the top of the WWF. Austin and Triple H also got going that year, but that proved not enough to top the classic 2001 year.
23:
Better Theme Music - Mankind's car-wreck theme or Brock Lesnar's first (only?) WWE theme?
MANKIND: 14
LESNAR: 21
Well, Here Comes the Pain.
24.
Batista or John Cena?
BATISTA: 6
JOHN CENA: 28
Two massively popular yet massively unpopular wrestlers. Cena proves to be favoured by TPWW, but most were reluctant to choose at all.
25:
Do you like Randy Orton?
YES: 23
NO: 1
MIXED: 11
Overall, Randy shows that he's doing alright. He's got the support of the majority, but not overwhelmingly, a lot are unsure, and only one dislikes him. Given some time and some improvement the 'Mixed' voters may well grow to like Orton.
26:
Better Moment - Kurt Angle sings 'Sexy Kurt' or The Rock's Sacramento Concert?
ANGLE: 7
ROCK: 27
Leaving Sacramento, Sacramento there I go,
Leaving Sacramento, Sacramento there I go,
They got some fat ass women there,
And the Rock is gonna, just say no.
Well I might take a plane, I might take a train,
How do you people live here? You must be insane,
I'm leaving Sacramento, Sacramento I won't stay,
But I'll be sure to come back when the Lakers beat the Kings in May,
I'll be sure to come back when the Lakers beat the Kings in May...
27:
Best WWE video game?
1: NO MERCY: 15
2: SD, HCTP: 7
3: SD v RAW: 4
4: WM2000: 2
=4: RAW: 2
Thought No Mercy would win, and it won well, with the high-rated Here Comes The Pain in second.
28:
Better Submission - Figure-Four Leg Lock or Cripper Crossface?
FIGURE FOUR: 17
CROSSFACE: 18
Maddd close. The Crossface wins by a single vote. The Lord-Of-Darkness's vote.
29:
Should 'The Male Manager' return to WWE T.V?
YES: 33
NO: 2
Landslide victory stating that the Male Manager should return to WWE television. Take note Vinnie.
30:
Would you rather see - John Morrison v CM Punk V Chris Sabin V AJ Styles in a TLC match, or Kurt Angle v Shawn Michaels v Bret Hart (all in prime) in a standard triple threat match.
TLC MATCH: 6
TRIPLE THREAT: 29
Both matches that'd be ***** no doubt. But Hart/HBK/Angle is a dream that all wrestling fans can only wish for.
31: Best WWE year since being 'WWE' (2002-2009)?
2002: 10
2003: 13
2004: 2
2005: 3
2006: 2
2007: 0
2008: 4
2009: 1
2003 has apparently been the best year of the 'E'. Heel Rock, WMXIX, Heel Cena, Lesnar/Angle feud, HBK/Jericho feud, plenty of good stuff from this year. 2002 was close behind, 02 and 03 got 23 out of 35 votes, so the first two years of the E seem to be the best two so far. 2008 got a fair amount of votes and 2009 has a long way to go, so things could be taking a turn for the better!
32:
Rank these 5 wrestlers, overall (no ties):
The scoring system I did for this was whoever got put 1st got 5 points, 2nd got 4 points, 3rd got 3 points, 4th got 2 points and 5th got 1 point.
The overall ranking was as follows (max possible: 175):
1: Edge: 153
2: Triple H: 114
3: Christian: 112
4: Bulldog: 79
5: Kane: 67
ABT will be most displeased. Great support for Edge though, over credible opponents

. Mad close between Trips and Xtian for 2nd/3rd too.
33:
Best WWE Pay Per View of 2008 (Think Back)?
WrestleMania: 23
Royal Rumble: 2
Unforgiven: 1
Survivor Series: 1
No Mercy: 1
Wrestlemania got 23 of the 28 votes, says it all really.
34:
Best TNA Pay Per View of 2008 (Again)?
Slammiversary: 5
Bound For Glory: 2
Turning Point: 1
Just 8 votes cast on this one. Not a positive sign for TNA. Of the few who did vote though, over half voted Slammiversary.
35:
Best Wrestler of 2008?
1: Chris Jericho - 16
2: Edge - 6
3: CM Punk - 4
4: HBK - 2
=4: Randy Orton - 2
2008 was a great year for Chris Jericho, one of his best yet undoubtedly, and he wins here by quite a margin. Nice finishes for Edge and CM Punk just behind, and HBK, well, he's always there.
