I think you'll actually love SmackDown!. The main event is scheduled to be John Morrison, Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. CM Punk, Tyson Kidd & David Hart Smith w/Natalya Neidhart. CM Punk has been tremendous as a heel. He has been getting so much heat, without really even doing anything heelish until a few weeks ago. He's fixated on ridding the WWE of Jeff Hardy, because Jeff Hardy represents a drug-riddled life that CM Punk does not support. Punk believes himself to be a true role-model, and is facing Jeff in a TLC Match at Summerslam for the World Heavyweight Title. Matt Hardy is again seemingly a face, regretting all he did to Jeff.
Here is a recap of the other SmackDown! storylines:
* Kane is a heel, and is playing his usual psycho-stalker heel self against The Great Khali, who is a fun-loving face. Kane recently kidnapped Ranjin Singh (Khali's translator/valet guy), and while the match is going to be ugly, Kane's been doing some of his best work recently.
* Dolph Ziggler, who is getting really good, is feuding with Rey Mysterio, who is Rey Mysterio (take that however you want). Rey is still the Intercontinental Champion. They'll be facing each other at Summerslam for the IC Title. Ziggler is banging Maria, who is still a face, in storylines -- which is just a way to emphasise that he is the man.
Oh, and even if you don't like the guys involved in the title hunt, the IC Champion is actually being treated like the "default #2 contender" as I heard they used to be during the day. The IC Champion will often headline SmackDown!, or that Superstars show on WGN. The belt is above "mid-card" level now, and is more like the "upper mid-card" title on SmackDown!. Rey Mysterio and Chris Jericho recently had a feud over the title, which they had input in like Jericho did with HBK, and while I wasn't a big fan of it, many have called it "Feud of the Year" so far.
* Chris Jericho & Big Show are the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. Big Show also wears an ugly blue singlet now. Again, I haven't been enjoying them as much as others, but you don't care about my opinion. Jericho is still classic heel Jericho, and Show has seemingly developed more of an "elitist" persona since joining up with Jericho. They have been feuding with Cryme Tyme, who seem to be getting a bit of love from the company. JTG recently got to upset Jericho with a roll-up.
* Mike Knox has got a fixation on Finlay. Just last week, he attacked Finlay and gave him a sidewalk slam on some steel steps, and then cut a relaxed promo where he sounded like a mad doctor with a sick fascination with anatomy. "It's common knowledge that there are 206 bones in the human body. But what fascinates me is that the slightest pressure to the central vertabrae can cause extreme discomfort." Something like that. Knox seems to be your type of wrestler. He has been really good lately.
* Michelle McCool is the Women's Champion, and is "returning" this week on SmackDown!. She is still a heel, and Layla is sort of her "friend" on-air. Melina is still gunning for the Women's Championship, and is friends with any face Diva.
* R-Truth doesn't have any direction, but is bound to be part of the show. He is still doing his underwhelming rap shtick. At least he is pretty over, right? He's a face, and is likely to wrestle somebody on the show. Perhaps Mike Knox.
