Not many songs on their newest CD were metal. Bands like Shadows Fall, Black Dahlia Murder, and the like are all getting a free ride in terms of popularity. To get popular, all you have to do is write songs with this generic formula:

X can be any note in the E minor scale. At The Gates made this formula, and bands are ripping them off all over the place. It's disgusting when you know exactly how a song will sound the first time you listen to it.
