Within Temptation--Anyone listen to 'em?

I mostly ask because I'm wondering if I'll regret buying more. I picked up Mother Earth, and liked it enough that I picked up Black Symphony (Live CD/DVD). As ridiculous as "What Have You Done?" Sounds, I picked up the album it's off because it sounded like all the other songs from that album represented were ones I liked.

Thing is, half the record sounds like it's some sort of Evanescence/Linkin Park tribute band. Even though only one track actually has Keith Caputo, a lot of the others sound like rapcore without the rap. I don't know if they "sold out" or whatever, but that album is at best, mixed appeal. I'd like to avoid anything similar. Are there more reords like that, or am I fairly safe with the rest of their discography?

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
