I would love to see Rock back on WWE TV in any capacity, unfortunately it aint gonna happen, and here why:
Rock's WWE contract is about to run out (September I think), and I highly doubt he will re-sign a deal that involves him being a regular character on any of the shows. In fact he may not even sign at all, however there's a good chance he will sign some sort of deal just so that the WWE will continue to plug his movies on TV.
Next problem is how busy he is right now. He's currently filming a movie with John Travolta (Be Cool or whatever), then he has a movie called Instant Karma, Spy Hunter, and likely a movie about a Hawaiin King (Kuthamamenem or something like that) still in the works. Now thats just stuff he is already on board to be a part (or at least heavily rumoured to be). There was also talk a while back that he would be in Terminator 4, but I haven't heard much about that recently. So that should keep him busy for the next couple of years.
On top of that there is the money issue. Rock has already made something like $30 mil off the fiilms he's already completed, plus he still needs to get paid for the films he's lined up to do. So even if all his films flop, and he gets booted from Hollywood he would still never have to work in a WWE ring again for the rest of his life. He's said on numerous occasions that he'd like to do a match every year or so, but there's no way he'll be a regular character.
I as much as anyone would like to see him back, but it just doesn't make sense for him to come back, and really why would he?
